This garden was designed for a contemporary L-shaped home, with the landscape softened by gently curving lines that respond to the strong geometry of the building.

The driveway and planting areas follow these organic curves, creating a more natural transition between the architecture and the surrounding landscape.

A generous patio adjoining the house is visually divided into two areas through the use of different-sized limestone paving, creating distinct spaces for dining and relaxation while maintaining a sense of connection.

The low wall surrounding the patio provides additional seating, making the space equally suited to larger gatherings. A fire pit forms a focal point at the front of the patio, with carefully considered lighting adding warmth and atmosphere in the evening.

Along the boundaries, generous planting beds and carefully positioned small trees soften the surrounding walls and provide a degree of privacy from the neighbouring property.

 

At the opposite end of the house, a small circular lawn is framed by generous planting, creating a quieter and more secluded area within the garden – a place to sit, pause and enjoy the landscape
